Program Track: Emerging Concepts and Innovative Therapies
Presenters
Description
This session is intended to showcase clinical advances and/or translational research with direct application to patient care. The target speaker is anyone who has a validated innovation to share. Individual and team-based presentations are welcome for this session. Each speaker will give a 15-minute presentation on a specific topic, followed by a five-minute Q&A period. Speakers are selected by a blind review of abstracts submitted to the Academy.Educational Objectives
- • Gain knowledge of innovations and advances in clinical periodontics, research, or related subjects.
- • Describe a new advancement or translational research with direct application to patient care.
- • Apply key principles of the Partial-Full-Thickness Tunnel technique to manage challenging gingival recession.
- • Master connective tissue graft stabilization using a supra-crestal sling suture to achieve predictable esthetic and functional outcomes.
- • Explain how inflammatory responder types (IRTs) contribute to variability in host responses during gingivitis and periodontitis.
- • Differentiate high- and low-IRT profiles and analyze their roles in immune modulation, angiogenesis, and disease progression to guide future periodontal care strategies.
- • Assess clinical challenges associated with complicated oroantral fistulas (OAF).
- • Perform rapid, effective repair of severe, complicated OAF in both soft and hard tissue using a breakthrough periodontics approach.
