Ridge Preservation and Ridge Augmentation at the Era of Aseptic Processing

Description

Ridge preservation maintains the integrity of the alveolar ridge in order to prevent bone resorption and facilitate future implant placement. Ridge augmentation goes a step further by regenerating the alveolar bone to support the placement of dental implants or enhance aesthetic outcomes. Both procedures involve the placement of bone grafts. Aseptic processing eliminates the need for terminal sterilization and retains the endogenous growth factors present in the bone grafts. Furthermore, it ensures that the bone grafts maintain their osteoconductive, osteoinductive, and osteogenic properties.
