Biography Text: Dr. Jeong-Ho Yun is the Professor of the Department of Periodontology, Jeonbuk National University College of Dentistry. He is a diplomat of the Korean Board of Periodontology and practices Periodontology and Implant Dentistry as a clinical faculty member in the Department of Periodontics of Jeonbuk National University Dental Hospital. He earned his bachelor's degree in Life Science from POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) in 1997, followed by his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery), MSD (Master of Science in Dentistry), and PhD from Yonsei University College of Dentistry. He also obtained his Certificate in Periodontology while working as an intern, resident, and research fellow at the Department of Periodontics, Yonsei University Dental Hospital. Dr. Yun has held positions as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor at Kwandong University College of Medicine and Inha University School of Medicine. Additionally, he was a visiting researcher at Tokyo Women's Medical University ABMES (Institute of Advanced Biomedical Engineering and Science) and a visiting scholar in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California, USA. For the past 20 years, Dr. Yun's continuously funded research program has focused on oral and periodontal regenerative medicine, dental implants, and tissue engineering. His major scientific contributions lie within these areas. He has received several awards, including the Dong-Sun Young Investigator Award from the Korean Academy of Periodontology (KAP), the Best Research Article Award and KAOMI Academic Award from the Korean Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Implantology (KAOMI), and the Best Science and Technology Thesis Award from the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies. In addition, he was honored with the Osstem Cardiotech Technology Award in 2021 and the XCELL Therapeutics Technology Award in 2023 from the Korean Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society (KTERMS).
