Dr. Véronique Benhamou - BSc, DDS, Cert.Perio

Biography Text: Dr. Benhamou (B.Sc., D.D.S. Cert Perio) is an associate professor and the current Director of the Division of Periodontology of McGill University Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences. She obtained her specialty in periodontology and implant surgery in 1989 from the Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry in Boston. She is also involved in teaching at the general dental residency program of the Jewish General Hospital. Dr Benhamou is a Fellow and Treasurer of the Quebec Section of the American College of Dentists, Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and Fellow and Speaker of the ITI and a member of numerous professional organizations. Dedicated to teaching and continuing education, she is very involved and has travelled extensively worldwide to share her expertise. She was the recipient of the W.W. Wood Award for “excellence in Dental Education” in 2005 and 2021, of the “Educator Award” from the AAP, the 2009 Howard Katz Award for “excellence in Teaching” and the 2014 ”Ralph Silverstone Teaching award”. Dr Benhamou is a past president of the Quebec Periodontal Association, and past president and current Executive Director of the Federation of Dental Specialists in Quebec. Her private practice is in downtown Montreal.
