Biography Text: Dr. Chris R. Richardson, DMD, MS currently practices as a part-time clinician in Richmond, Virginia, and has served the Richmond community for over 27 years. He is also an adjunct clinical professor in the Graduate Periodontics Clinic at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and received the 2018 AAP Educator Award at VCU. Dr. Richardson is a Board Certified Periodontist by the American Board of Periodontology, and has served in numerous leadership roles in his local, state, regional and national organizations. He is a Past President of the Richmond Dental Society and the Southern Academy of Periodontology. He currently serves as the President-Elect of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation, is a Past President of the American Academy of Periodontology, and also serves as an Examiner for the ABP.. Dr. Richardson maintains an active membership in the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and Richmond Dental Society. He is a former AAP Kramer Award recipient, a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association, and the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He received the 2017 AAP Clinical Research Award, the 2017 AAP Special Citation and is a recipient of the Harry Lyons Award from the Richmond Dental Society. He enjoys his volunteer work, playing golf, has two wonderful children (with wonderful spouses) and an amazing wife.
