Biography Text: Dr. Foerster is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. He is currently the Department Chair of the 59th Dental Training Squadron’s Periodontics residency located at the Air Force Post-Graduate Dental School, JBSA-Lackland, TX. He received a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Florida, College of Dentistry in Gainesville, FL. Lt Col Foerster completed the three-year postdoctoral Periodontics program at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB and a master’s in biomedical sciences from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2013. After residency, he served as periodontist and AEGD-1 faculty at Barksdale Air Force Base, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, and Joint-Base Andrews from 2013-2021. Lt Col Foerster held the positions of Clinical Flight Commander at Barksdale AFB from 2016-2017 and Chief of Dental Services at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling from 2019-2021. Dr. Foerster returned to Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in 2021 to join the teaching staff of the Air Force Periodontics Residency. He is an adjunct professor at The University of Texas Health and Science Center San Antonio and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Dr. Foerster is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
